Shocking and sad that I will no longer be on YouTube, right? Let me tell you what happened...

If you remember my video on the changes that were coming in 2026, I already spoke a bit about how YouTube has been pushing their AI model and demoting real creators. In fact, as of March, 2026, almost 70% of large creators have left YouTube due to the algorithm changes. Well, along with this, my story is a bit different.

YouTube (funnily enough), suggested a video to me with the identical title of a video that I had. I clicked on it, and it was an AI video that was word-for-word verbatim of my video. So I flagged it for copyright infringement and it was approved and taken down. A week later, I received an email from the channel owner asking if I'd remove my copyright request and they would just take the video down. I told them that they actually had five more copyrighted videos on their channel that were created by me, and I would give them the opportunity to take them down instead of reporting them. I did not hear back from them, so a week later I requested copyright take-downs of those five videos through YouTube, and the videos were removed. 

Two days after these AI videos were removed, I received six separate emails from YouTube stating that this channel owner had rebuked the copyright infringement and I had 10 days to sue the channel owner and provide proof to YouTube that I am doing so, otherwise the videos would go back up. Well, considering that the channel owner lives on another continent and it would be quite the feat to find a lawyer and serve an international lawsuit against someone I do not know so that I can provide proof to YouTube within a 10-day span, I did not find this feasible. On another note, there are now dozens of AI channels that are utilizing my content.

Here's the problem: YouTube has integrated its own AI tools into its platform. As a channel owner, you can now give their AI tools a concept, and it will scour YouTube, pulling information from videos already posted by creators, and create a brand new video, sometimes never changing anything except the graphics. As creators, our intellectual property is no longer safe, our work is no longer safe, and our following is being sublimated in favor of YouTube's AI.

I have moved everything over to Patreon. You can join for free and chat with the community, or you can pay $5 a month and get access to all new videos and old videos, along with requesting new videos. I have done this because adding a paywall on a platform away from YouTube highly discourages people to replicate my content, and doesn't allow AI to scour my channel and content to create "new" content and claim it's fair use. I am charging $5 simply to cover my Patreon fees and costs associated with running the channel.
